Salvage store find

We have a store chain in Maine that buys up other going out of business or damaged goods stuff and sells it in their stores. It’s called Mardens. It’s full of stuff. On any day you might see a bunch of GE refrigerators from a buy out of a furniture store going out of business, or a bunch of stuff from various stores in a hurricane damaged area. I’ve purchasted 99 cent twelve inch bessey F clamps, and $10 sixty inch bailey parallel cabinet clamps. Not to mention the LLbean seconds you find there sometimes that my wife covets.

Anyway, After nearing finishing my kitchen I’ve been wanting to install some of those pull out waste basket trays and some for canned goods. It seems like the bottom cabinets become a cavern for things to get lost in. I’ve looked at the expensive ones in the big box stores and decided to make some with some drawer sliders myself. Until I came across this at Mardens.

They are very heavy duty extended sliders with teak wood platforms on them. Twelve bucks each. The wires on the top are press in. I’m planning on using 1/2” birch plywood to make a waste basket holder for one of them. Two of them will be for pull out canning shelves, and two more will go into the assembly table I’m planning on making this spring in the shop.

This is the top of the unit. The rails on the top come off, press fit.

And the underneath. Notice the crossbars meant to screw it to the cabinet floor.

And the slides extended. The tray will extend completely out of the cabinet.
