Overkill Dog Gate

My lovely Fiance’s dog loves to wander about my house and pee if you’re not watching her, so we needed a way to contain the 10 lbs of Yorkie Fury. I do have to say she’s probably the quietest and laziest Yorkie I’ve ever met, so this gate didn’t need to be anything large. I have a Bearded Collie, but he’d never try to defeat a gate, he’s just not into making me upset.

My fiance wanted to buy a dog gate online, GASP! I told her I had a pile of scraps from our various projects and I would build her one. One small issue, I hadn’t bought a miter saw yet, so she didn’t think I’d get it done in a reasonable amount of time. I can never make a decision on tools. I have to look at all options, and it takes me a long time to come to a conclusion. She thinks I’m nuts, but I’ve been at the mercy of bad tools before. So I was on another forum, and found that there was a deal for Dewalt 12” miter saw at HD. Long story short, I got my saw and I was off to the races.

Basically the gate is made of pine wainscoting, trim scrap and a 2
