…
Woke up at 3:30. Read the nook for a while. Couldn’t get back to sleep, so I got up. Read news stories on the Internet. Watched Olympics for a few minutes. Around 5:00, I went out and shoveled snow in the waning moonlight. It’s cold, but quiet and peaceful. We’re out of coffee, so I decided to go to the gas station for a cup. Probably a bad idea. The roads haven’t been plowed in a while, and my little pickup truck has very little traction. My sandbags are out in back covered by snow. Managed to make it home.
Sat in the basement for a couple hours waiting for inspiration. Then, I came back upstairs.
I’ve got three pieces of wood. Project leftovers. They’re thin strips. Cherry is only an 1/8” thick and about 15” long. The walnut strips are actually two book-matched pieces. They’re thicker. The boards are all about 3” wide.
I’d like to use them for something. I’m figuring two walnut boxes and one cherry box, each with sliding tops. On the other hand, I’m not sure about a box that’s a foot long and only 3” wide. Seems an odd shape, but, for now, I’m reluctant to cut these pieces. They’re a little narrow for paneled doors.
