So I am starting my bench except where I purchased my lumber they or he did not have the lumber I wanted in 8/4 stock so I have gone with 4/4 stock. I am curious is every one uses 8/4 because it is less gluing up or am I in reality going to run into issue using the thinner stock. I am making the top out of cherry and the legs and frame from pine. This is the cherry cut to length and waiting to be glued up and planned. I have seen a few plans and am curious about the trust rods. I do not plan on putting rods through my top it is that going to affect it?
