Flip Table ALMOST done!
So now that I have the flip table constructed… now the scary part…. actually attaching the heavy tools and trusting God that the table will hold them!!!
I added two threaded inserts over top of the pole and screwed down two bolts to prevent the pole from moving when I flip the table.
Learning from my friend “Hank”: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=beachside%20hank&sm=12,
I need to find the center of the mass (weight) and not the center of the tool. I used a dowel under the tool and rolled back and forth till I found the balance point. Now in my case, my Ridgid planer is rather well balanced. The weight is evenly distributed; therefore the center of the unit is also the balance point.
I’ve used tape to mark this and also drew pencil mars on my table to help me align the planer.
I then further developed (fine-tuned) the pivot point by removing my pin locking system and seeing if the table stayed relatively even.
Put the pin back in, move the planer ever so little and remove the pin again. After a few adjustment, I was satisfied, marked the spots for the 3/8
