Lost the arbor nut on my JWTS10 table saw but had no idea it might require a new saw to replace it. Ordered the replacement nut from Jet, according to part number and diagram, waited the week plus, it arrives and doesn’t fit. I came a little unglued, being work stoppage on a much wanted project. Customer service transfers me to tech support where the conversation goes like this:
Me The arbor nut you sent doesn’t fit.
Tech Suport Guy I’m not surprised.
M Huh?
TSG Yup. We get arbors and nuts from lots from lots of suppliers, they’re all different. I could send you a dozen and none of them would fit
M So what am I supposed to do?
TSG Take the arbor and nut to a machine shop and have them re thread them to match.
M You’re kidding
TSG Nope.
What followed was a chat with C/S for a refund, which I might not “qualify” for, since they shipped exactly the part I ordered. The fact that it was useless meant nothing.
The solution may be to order a new arbor and matching nut but them I’m concerned they won’t match the bearings, etc.
Any suggestions from anyone about replacing the nut, nut arbor combination, or a new table saw (not Jet) would be appreciated.
