Hi guys. This is my first “project” entry for LJ. I’m replacing all the moldings in my house soon and I read a few blogs here about mitre saw tables. My 1 car garage shop is pretty small so I decided against a dedicated table. I need to open my garage door to rip anything long on the table saw and I figured this arrangement would somehow work for the mitre saw so I decided that some kind of platform that dots on top of the table saw would work best. What I ended up with is basically 2 rails that fit into the mitre slots with stop blocks that hold the platform in place on top of the table saw. I sunk some threaded rod into the rails that the mitre saw bolt holes slip onto. The saw and the platform are pegged together onto the table saw and no clamps are necessary. Also the rails have some MDF “wings” that act as an extension table for the mitre saw. The whole setup is 6 feet long which gives a total table of 3 feet on each side of the blade. The beauty of it is that the saw is not bolted to the platform so the platform can be hung on the wall when not in use.

And lastly this is a view of the bottom with the platform turned on its side. Notice the little rails that fit into the mitre slots on the table saw and the stop blocks at each end that keep the platform from sliding off the table saw.
